International managers and supervisors

Length Options:

1 -3 day workshops, depending on customization

Delivery Options:

Employment laws, the relationships created by those laws, and a manager's obligations under those laws, differ in every country. Do your international professionals understand your expectations for when and how to give direct performance feedback to their teams? What does "at will employment" mean to them and do they know how to manage people consistent with that doctrine? Does their native culture treat men and women in the workplace equally? Do they understand how to make employment related decisions in the context of US laws prohibiting employment discrimination? Would they recognize possible unlawful harassment if they saw it?  Native US managers and supervisors struggle with these issues so you can imagine some of the challenges for international professionals.

The objective of this workshop is to orient international managers and supervisors to some critical US workplace laws while teaching them about your expectations of them as managers of people. In addition to learning about US laws, participants learn how to use communication techniques to be better managers of your human capital consistent with your company's policies, culture and US law.
